The Heart Of An Evangelist

Life and thoughts of a born-again Christian with the gift of Evangelism

Operation Saturation – Blue Springs Evangelism

Wow I think they fit houses in between houses.  We have been reaching out and going door to door with the Gospel and giving the community a gospel tract from Little Read Book Ministries and some pieces of candy.

One guy said we were soliciting I said we were not we were GIVING! One lady said she needed to start going back to church. This is by far the best way to invest your time in. Why? Because it has ETERNAL consequences worth far greater than any amount of money or event to attend. #Evangelism #JesusStillSaves #Gospel

Romans 10:14

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Lame Excuses for NOT Evangelizing

1.  We’re Taking A “Lifestyle Evangelism” Approach.

This is the WORST and LAMEST way to evangelize. Let me say something very frank.  The word evangelism means the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness.  ANYONE can feed the poor.  ANYONE can do nice things.  Can you tell the difference between a Christian and a non-Christian by lifestyle?  I think you know the answer to that. The answer is no you cannot tell.  The thing is there is ONE fruit that is commanded to be produced in our lives and it is NOT the fruit of the spirit. Jesus’ exact words in John 15:16,  “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should GO and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you”

2. We Don’t Really Care.

The only question I have about this lame excuse is this, are you REALLY saved?  Because if you don’t have a heart even a small heart for the lost you my friend are lost yourself.  You cannot be saved and NOT desire the lost to be saved themselves.  These are folks that will hear the words depart from me ye that work iniquity!  Jesus stated this in Matthew 7:21-23,  “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  (22)  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  (23)  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”

3.  We’re Afraid We Don’t Know Enough.

You know enough if you are saved.  This is the DEVILS lie!  You know HOW you got saved.  We need to stop worrying about what we know.  We can spend hours, weeks, months and years caught up in this.  If someone challenges you,  (as they have in my life, from the Jehovah Witness, the Mormon and all the other false teachers) and you lose, keep going.  Learn from it.  That is going to be the ONLY way to grow!

4.  We’re Ashamed.

Stop it right there.  Repent and get things right and get out there and do it!  Kick that devil to the curb.  Paul stated in Romans 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Matthew 28:19-20  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  (20)  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Evangelism Reality Show

Just a thought: We have all these reality shows on that people get into and follow and are addicted to. I think there needs to be a reality show on evangelism. We could call it Fishers Of Men or The Greatest Catch or something like that. Unfortunately it would lack the players. We would eat something nasty on public television, do something dangerous on public television and even act a fool. But mention the name of Christ to people. Oh no we don’t want to offend anyone.

The Life Of An Evangelist

An evangelist cannot stop thinking about the souls of people. An evangelist cannot stop talking about the Gospel. An evangelist always strives to turn a conversation towards the Gospel. An evangelist weeps for the lost. An evangelist always engages and seeks the lost with the Gospel where ever they are whether it is on a social media site or in person. An evangelist always prays for divine encounters to share the Gospel. An evangelist does not care about what others think or say of them because it is not about us it is about the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. An evangelist is on the hit list of the devil because they do damage to the devils kingdom.

Another Gospel – The Engagement Of OTHERS.

One of the things that an evangelist deals with when we are doing anything in regards to the Gospel is “other gospels” I just recently had someone send me a private message about the subject of tongues. It is so very important to RIGHTLY divide the Word of truth and as an evangelist it is important to KNOW your Bible. There are so many cults and heresy’s out there that if you are not well versed in the Word of God it is best just to move on to another person if they start debating you. This person when I answered him with the Word of God realizing the nonsense that he was caught up in for over 35 years, he could not counter move the Word of God. Why? Because the Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword as Paul says in (Hebrews 4:12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Those that are caught up in this nonsense don’t have a leg to stand on. All they can do is either realize they have been living a lie and become LOST before a just and holy God and then repent, or they will run from you or call you names such as this individual did a few minutes ago saying “I rebuke thee Satan” It is a sad thing to see many victims of false teachings, false religions and cults that people get caught up in. It makes me tear up. it breaks my heart. It should make us all tear up.

Peter stated in (2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance. That means the cults, the false religions, the atheists, the “good works” people and even those that are terrorists! When we realize that the people we are fighting with are NOT the enemy then we will realize what it is we need to do and our whole attitude will change for people.

Use Another Name For A Curse Word!

Nothing hurts worse than hearing my Lords name taken in vain. Sometimes I ask the question, “Why do you use that name as a curse word? Out of ALL the names that are out there why Jesus Christ’s name? Why not use your own name or someone else’s name?” It gets people to think. Some get angry. Some realize what they are REALLY saying and it stops and still others it plants a seed in their hearts.

The Fear Of The Lord

The day you experience someone on their death bed and they grab you and say to you with such incredible fear in their eyes, “I don’t know where I am going.” It will change your entire perspective. This happened to me with one of my in laws in the the first years of my life as a Christian and when it did, I had to leave the house. I stood behind our van and just weeped and weeped and weeped. When I got my composure back , I grabbed a book of John that that I had from the pocket testament league and brought it in and set it beside his bed. I had told him to read it over or have someone else go over it with him. Now you are probably asking why I didn’t do it my self? I really don’t know. Whether it was fear or something else, I don’t know. Maybe it was allowing his wife to lead him to the lord? I really don’t know. But what I do know is I completed my mission to get the Gospel into this persons hand.

Remember when you make yourself available to the Lord, He takes you serious. Be ready. ALWAYS! I think we really take it too lightly. Peter stated in 1 Peter 3:15-16

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

Are you ready? If the answer is no, why not? What is stopping you? Start now, because you never know.

When God Wakes Me Up

There are nights such as these where it is 2:44am in the morning and God just racks you out of bed in the middle of the night and tells you, “Hey, psst. Hey Mike, the City needs Me.”. So I then proceed to get on my knees a bit begging God to revive this city, to save this neighborhood. This is the first post on this page. It may sound a bit morbid but, it is reality. Realize something for a second, someone died this morning, someone took their last breath without Christ. You wonder if at some point in their life that someone, somewhere took the time to give that individual the truth of our precious story of Jesus. We cannot give the increase, only God can, but, but did someone say something at some point in their life? The heaviness is so great. At times, I do call this a curse, because there are times where it is so overwhelming in my life it is all I can do but to break down and cry. I am in the middle of a city that every breathing human being here does NOT know Jesus! I was the one that asked God for His eyes and His heart for people. Is it a bad thing? No. Some say that I should be joyous as the Bible says many, many times. Yes there is joy in my life. I have the assurance of Heaven! But I want others to have that too! When people that I know or don’t know that are without Christ in their lives, well, that is a completely different story.

Psalms 126:5-6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
